Duane developed his career in IT over many years in areas including application development, server management and network security. He previously worked for organisations including the CBI, BBC, Proctor & Gamble, Eidos and Reuters.

In 2002 Duane founded SevenTech Solutions, an application development firm. In 2004 he led their merger with The Web Marketing Agency, a provider of search engine optimisation services, to form Key One Ltd. The company is an internet solution provider that focuses on delivering enterprise class solutions.

In 2005 Duane formed KashFlow Software Limited, gaining major investment from The Rt Hon. Lord Young of Graffham.

Duane developed the original CitySocialising.com site in 2004, coming on board as an investor and as head of technology in 2006. He is responsible for overseeing the design and development of the website.
