If you fancy a night of drinks and boogying in Nottingham's historic Lace Market amidst laid back stylish surroundings, then come and join the CitySocialising party down at the Lizard Lounge this Friday night.
Spread over three floors and a Nottingham institution, The Lizard Lounge was awarded the title of BEDA night club of the 1997 and nominated best bar in the midlands by BEDA in 2006.
With a ground floor bar decorated in traditional 'gentelman's club' style with timber wall panelling, gilded framed paintings subtlety illuminated with polished brass picture lights and focal point fireplace, we can enjoy some decadent drinks while chatting, with a selection of Champagne, Cocktails, Premium spirits and Belgian beers on offer.
And upstairs in the glamourous Champagne Bar, there is an eclectic palette of gold ornate chandeliers, iridescent textured wall coverings, rich velvet drapes and leather fixed seating which creates an opulent ambience, and with DJs playing a mix of soulful funk, house and disco we can dance the night away to the early hours!
We will be meeting up for some pre-club drinks at nearby bar XXXXX (full details available to view upon booking) where one of our hosts will be expecting you when you arrive to welcome you and settle you in to the night.

What better way to spend a late summer afternoon than a relaxing Sunday lunch followed by some boating on a lake? Come and join the CitySocialising crowd doing just that, in Highfields Boating Lake in the Nottingham University Campus grounds.
The boating lake is beautifully placed in 330 acres of rolling parkland, well endowed with magnificent trees, wildflower meadows, exotic plantings and water features. The park also includes on site activities, including boat hire, motor launch trips, bowling, croquet, putting, children's play area and a variety of Lake Pavilion events.
We can choose from a 2 person canoe or a 4 person rowing boat to paddle around in, and take in the nature and wildlife.
Before heading to the lake we will be meeting up at XXXXX (full details available to view upon booking) for a relaxing Traditional Sunday Lunch available with choice of usually 3 roasts (£5.95) and a couple of drinks. One of our hosts will be at a reserved table there when you arrive to welcome you and settle you into the afternoon. We'll have a couple of hours to chat, relax and socialise together over lunch and drinks before heading over to the Highfields Boating Lake at around 2.00pm.

If you fancy doing something a bit different this Friday night, join a group of fellow CitySocialisers for an evening of drinks, food and lots of fun as we enjoy the British institution of Greyhound racing at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium dog track!
Quite simply the home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands, the stadium is situated just two miles from the City Centre. Offering great entertainment at affordable prices, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is set up for those who want to enjoy the thrill of live greyhound racing.
The racing is on all night, but we will be catching all the action as it happens from 8pm onwards which will give us a couple of hours of trackside racing, placing some bets, food, drinks and canine craziness!
Access to the stadium is £6 (including racecard) and there are a number of different food, drink and betting outlets on site. The stadium has plenty of viewing inside and out so we can enjoy the thrill of live racing whatever the weather.
And a flutter costs as little as 50p so you don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy this night at the dogs!
We'll be getting together first at XXXXX (full details available to view upon booking) where one of our hosts will welcome you and settle you into the evening. We can enjoy a couple of drinks together before heading to the nearby bus stop on Queen Street and catching the bus together to the Nottingham Greyhound Stadium at 7.30pm.
And once the racing has finished, we can get the bus back into the City Centre and head to a nearby watering hole to talk about what we've seen and continue our Friday evening with more drinks, socialising and having fun!

Saturday night residents, The Joe Strange Band is a versatile four-piece group comprising vocals, guitar, bass, drums/ percussion and/or piano covering a wide range of music, from Elvis to Madonna, Iggy Pop to R Kelly. Playing both traditional arrangements and interesting versions and medleys the band delivers an entertaining mix of classic and contemporary songs.
With dimmed lights and table service, the atmosphere at XXXXX is relaxed and friendly, and with good music, and great drinks its a prefect spot for a chilled Saturday night out with some fellow CitySocialisers.

Autumn has arrived and the CitySocialising's Great Nottingham World Food Tour is in search of a warm, cosy and inviting atmosphere on the next leg of its adventure. It's the perfect time to really begin and explore the culinary delights that our great little city has to offer, and take part in more CitySocialising nights out.
The idea for The Great Nottingham World Food Tour is to take full advantage of our city's mix of great ethnic cuisine and head out to a number of the top restaurants and partake in the food they serve from all over the globe, visiting Japanese, French, Spanish, Brazilian, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Lebanese and as many other outposts of this planet that we can find to let our tastebuds explore!
It may be foods you know, it may be foods that you have been wanting to try and have never had the opportunity, the only requirement is a passion for food, an inquisitive nature and a huge desire to have a great time!
Our next stop on the World Food Tour is the ultimate fish restaurant – the Loch Fyne Restaurant in the heart of the city.
Loch Fyne Restaurant has earned itself a reputation for serving the best, freshest Scottish seafood in wonderfully relaxed and welcoming surroundings. If you fancy a Sunday afternoon with a real difference, then come and join the CitySocialising crowd for an exhilarating afternoon of energetic fun on ice-skates, to music and visual effects, at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.
Opened in 2000 by Olympic Champion Jayne Torvill, the £43 million National Ice Centre was the first twin Olympic-sized (60m x 30m) ice rink facility in the UK. It’s home to many of the country’s brightest young skaters and is the training ground for the GB Speed Skating Squad and the Nottingham Panthers ice hockey team.
Sunday afternoon is the Cooler Disco session: Lively and Loud! The lights are lowered and the disco lights are turned on. These sessions are the perfect place to watch your friends show off or slip up! They are also a great way to ‘break the ice’ with others and ensure everyone has an unforgettable experience whatever their age or skating ability.
Before heading off to the Ice Centre, we'll all be meeting up for drinks and a bite to eat at the nearby XXXXX (full details available to view upon booking). XXXXX is an award winning Italian restaurant which has something for everyone including a fantastic range of pizzas, pastas, and salads (£6.95 to £9.50).
We will have a table reserved in the lounge bar, and one of our hosts will be expecting you when you arrive to welcome you and settle you in to the afternoon. We'll have an hour and a half here for lunch & drinks before heading off to the Cooler Disco which starts at 2.30pm. The disco finishes at 5pm.
Entry into to the Cooler Disco is £5.50/person and the cost of ice-skates hire £2.00/person. .
Dress Code: Comfortable, warm clothes are essential if you are coming ice skating along with a pair of cosy socks!
